The preparation May shoot started just after Christmas, with the opening up of the top wood to increase the number of shots to 30, a lot of hard work since then has created the course that has been shot this weekend. A big thankyou to the club members who helped with course work and the preparation for the shoot.
The morning of the May the 11th dawned bright and sunny, a perfect day of a bit of archery, the course was ready, catering had the kettle on, bacon and sausage cooked and carpark waiting for the nearly 100 archers that came to shoot at our little club.
By 10:15 everyone was on the course, and we were off, the sound of happy archer and arrows flying filled the air.
After a while the first hungry archers were in catering willing to try our delicious food, not to mention cakes and crumble, by the end of the day the admin. area was filled with very happy archers waiting for the raffle and results.
Before the raffle and results, we presented one of our members Ken Adams a small gift and a thankyou card signed by most people at the shoot for all the hard work he has done this year as he steps down from course laying and heavy work.
The raffle and results went of smoothly and everyone was on the way home by 16:30, then more hard work to clear the catering away and put everything else to bed.
Another shoot done!
We are doing it all again in October see NFAS site for details
Thanks
